Phillip P. Keene, né le 5 septembre 1966 à Los Angeles, est un acteur américain. Il faut attendre 2004 pour que le jeune acteur fasse ses débuts devant la caméra, grâce à une apparition dans un épisode de la courte série judiciaire The D.A., retirée de l’antenne après quatre semaines de diffusion, faute d’audience. Cette expérience lui permet toutefois de se faire remarquer par le scénariste James Duff qui fait appel à lui l’année suivante pour rejoindre la distribution de son nouveau show policier, The Closer : L.A. Enquêtes prioritaires. Aux côtés notamment de Kyra Sedgwick, qui prête ses traits à l’héroïne Brenda Leigh Johnson, et de J.K. Simmons, Keene y incarne durant sept saisons Buzz Watson, l’assistant technique de la Division des crimes majeurs de la police de Los Angeles.

En 2012, au terme de cette première aventure régulière sur le petit écran, le comédien ne dit pas pour autant au revoir au personnage qui l’a révélé au public. Les téléspectateurs le retrouvent en effet, au même titre qu’une partie du casting original, dans Major Crimes qui, sous forme de suite directe, voit le Capitaine Sharon Raydor, interprétée par Mary McDonnell, succéder au chef adjoint Leigh Johnson à la tête de l’équipe d’enquêteurs.
